I am starting to knit using a loom and it is so exciting because I have always wanted to knit but the needle "thing" has always got me. I crochet and while I have success with it, I wanted to learn more about other crafts specifically meedle arts that have long since past. Back in the 1800s, women of, for lack of a better word, breeding was to learn to sing, dance, draw and do needle arts.
In the early years of this country, we used what we had or just figured out how to make say thread or yarn, etc. People who forged a new frontier did not have a Wal-mart or Target to go buy thing at they made it with there hands through techniques brought down through the generations from there mothers and mother's mother before them.
I have just finished my first project for the round loom and will post the item later. I being one who never starts at the bottom, started with a difficult project a pair of sock or slipper/socks. I must say after being shown what to do I did not have any problems making the sock. I did drop a stitch here or there but they are mine socks and I think they are grand.
I am also learning how to use this blog space. I want to put my own touches on this blog and I will. If know one ever reads this I still want to have the best blog space around.
Enough for today, I have to go knit some more.
